Eames Molded Plastic Dowel Base reintroduced by Herman Miller Available to order now

It has been a long time coming but the Herman Miller Eames Dowel Base is finally here!

Originally constructed of fibreglass and one of the most popular chairs of all time, Herman Miller introduced a selection of these chairs in 2001 and increased the selection in 2005 as part of their ‘Get Real’ campaign. The first chairs were designed for the¬†International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture organized by the New York Museum of Modern Art in 1948.¬†Beautifully finished and elegantly formed, these chairs are available in 5 colours.

The Dowel base definitely softens the look of the chair. The subtle black metal frame takes a back stage to let the sculptural plastic seat and wood legs stand out.

Don’t forget all the other varieties of the Eames Molded Plastic Chairs.

Our personal favourite, the Eames Rocker. Comfortable and perfect for any location.
