Giulio Iacchetti talks about his “Disobedient Objects”

There are many ways to approach product design, Mr. Iacchetti’s methods radiate passion and purpose. The man himself seems in love with laughing, humanity and life. Even though he did not speak a word of English, his charisma and humour crossed linguistic boundaries and brought a smile to all those who were fortunate enough to attend. The evening was insightful, educational and downright pleasant.

Below is some footage taken during his speech at the Insitute of Italian Culture in Vancouver on October 23rd, 2009.

In this excerpt from the evening Mr. Iacchetti speaks of his “Memory Feet” project, stencils to paint footprints in and around Milan. These painted footprints were initially intended to represent those fallen during battle. Since then this “object”, like many of those created by Mr. Iacchetti, have taken on a life of their own.
